Uniform: Bear in mind that uniforms need not be purchased every year. For younger Scouts, we encourage families to buy shirts larger than needed so that you do not have to purchase one as your Scout grows. 1st to 3rd grade, uniforms remain the same. 4th and 5th graders upgrade to a Webelos uniform. Some families may have uniforms that they’d like to hand down. Please contact the Pack’s Committee Chair for that information.
The “must haves”: Scout book (rank specific), uniform shirt, belt (for achievements), neckerchief and slide, Capitol Area Council shoulder patch, World Scout crest, Pack 445 numbers, and Den number patch.
Optional items: Socks, pants/shorts with belt loops (Some parents bought navy shorts at Target), red patch vest, and cap. Badge Magic adhesive (sold at the Scout store) is a great alternative to sewing on patches, is highly effective, and launders well.
To purchase a new uniform, you can visit the Capitol Area Council Boy Scouts of America (www.bsacac.org).
Location: located at 12500 N IH 35. They also can mail things to your home for a small fee. You may also purchase items on scoutstuff.org.
